Kingman Arizona has a new runner in town. The 12 foot 1000 pound “running Hare should be a popular attraction and photo shoot for this weekends Best of the West on 66 Festival. The Statue is located on 4th street and route 66 caddy corner from the train station museum.
The artist Don Gialanella is an artist in residence at the ArtHub, which is an organization for the arts in Kingman, Arizona. The program includes artist residencies, a studio, public classes and a gallery. Mr Gialanella who created this unique sculpture with the help of the welding department at Mohave Community College which received donations for materials supplied by various entities. The sculpture will be sold at auction after the festival and proceeds are to be donated to the Route 66 Association of Kingman. It would be great if someone locale purchased it and then donated it back to the community to be a lasting fixture for tourist to view.
